Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Keegan Lowe
Keegan Lowe was born on March 29, 1993 in Greenwich, Connecticut while his father, long-time NHLer, Kevin Lowe, was playing for the New York Rangers. Keegan would play his junior hockey with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League where he would prove to be a solid defenceman at both ends of the ice.

Lowe was selected in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. He would make his professional debut for the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, in 2013. In 63 games for the club Lowe would notch a pair of goals and 10 assists to go along with 86 penalty minutes.

Lowe spent the majority of the 2014-15 season, but would get his first taste of NHL action as the season came to a close. He would suit up in two games for the Hurricanes, a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers and 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings.

During the 2016-17 season, Lowe appeared in 49 games at the AHL level, scoring three times and adding nine assists. On February 21, 2017, his time in the Hurricanes organization would come to an end. He was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Philip Samuelsson. Lowe would finish the season with the St. John's IceCaps and on July 1, 2017, as an unrestricted free agent signed with the Edmonton Oilers.
