Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mike Reilly
Mike Reilly was born on July 13, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Minnesota where he was a standout defenceman in the USHS. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets and would attend the University of Minnesota where he was twice named Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-American.

Reilly and the Blue Jackets would not come to terms and he instead signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Wild on July 1, 2015. He would join the club's AHL affiliate in Iowa the following season. He would spend 45 games for the club, scoring five times and adding eight assists. On January 9, 2016, Reilly made his NHL debut in a 2-1 Wild victory over the Dallas Stars. He would go on to appear in 29 games for the Wild, scoring a goal and adding six assists.

In 38 games for the Wild during the 2017-18 season Reilly scored a pair of goals and added eight assists for 10 points. On February 26, the NHL's trade deadline, Reilly was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a fifth round draft pick.
