Brandon Manning was born June 4, 1990 in Price George, British Columbia. A product of the Chilliwack Bruins of the Western Hockey League, he was undrafted by and NHL club, but signed as a free agent signed as a free agent by Philadelphia, November 23, 2010.

Manning would make his professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Adirondack Phantoms during the 2011-12 season. In 46 games for the club he would record six goals and 13 assists. Manning would make his NHL debut on March 8, 2012 for the Philadelphia Flyers when an injury opened up a spot on the Flyers' blue line. In total, he would see action in four NHL games for the Flyers during 2011-12, but was held off the score sheet.

In 56 games for the Flyers during the 2015-16 season, Manning would provided a physical presence on the back end. He also contributed a goal and added six assists.
