Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Torey Krug
Torey Krug was born on April 12, 1991, in Livonia, Michigan. A product of the USHL, he then attended Michigan State University. During his junior year at Michigan State, Krug was the top scoring defenceman in the CCHA, and tied as the conference scoring leader, becoming the first defenceman to lead the league in scoring since 1986-87.

Though undrafted, Krug's strong play at the collegiate level made him a sought after free agent and on March 25, 2012 he signed with the Boston Bruins. He would finish out the year with the Bruins, appearing in two games, recording his first NHL point.

Krug would spend the majority of the 2012-13 season with the Providence Bruins of American Hockey League. In 63 games, he recorded an impressive 13 goals and 32 assists.

Krug joined the Bruins on an emergency basis during the 2013 NHL playoffs. He would score his first NHL goal, in his first post-season game and followed it up by scoring again the following game. In one of the most sensational post-season debuts in memory, Krug scored four times in his first five playoff games.

Krug would establish himself as one of the Bruins' top defencemen and power-play quarterback. In 2013-14, he recorded a career-high 14 goals and followed that up with the 12-goal season in 2014-15. Though his goal total dipped the following year, Krug still recorded a career-high 44 points, which included 40 assists.

On the international stage, Krug helped the United States to the bronze medal at the 2015 World Championship.
