Viktor Fasth was born on August 8, 1982 in kalix, Sweden. Considered a late bloomer, Fasth tended goal for Vaxjo Lakers HC of Sweden second-tier league from 2007-2010. Following a stellar 2009-10 campaign he joined AIK IF Solna of the Swedish Elite League for the 2010-11 season. On May 21, 2012 Fasth signed a deal with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL, though his North American debut would be delayed due to the NHL lockout. On the international stage Fasth helped Sweden capture the silver medal at the 2011 World Championship. His strong showing earned him tournament MVP and best goalkeeper honours.
