Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ryan Murray
Ryan Murray was born on September 27, 1993 in White City, Saskatchewan. A product of the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League, Murray was selected second overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Murray's final year of junior was hampered by a shoulder injury that limited the defender to just 23 WHL games in which he would record a pair of goals and 15 assists.

Murray's impressive play at the Blue Jackets 2013 training camp earned him a spot with the club to start the 2013-14 season. He would go on to appear in 66 games for the Jackets, notching four goals and 17 assists.

Finally healthy, Murray would appear in all 82 games for the Blue Jackets during the 2015-16 season and showed the skill that made him a top prospect. He recorded four goals for the club and added a career-high 21 assists.

On the international stage Murray helped Canada to the bronze medal at the 2012 World Junior Championship held on home soil in Calgary and Edmonton. In 2016, Murray helped Canada to the gold medal at the World Championship held in Ufa, Russia. He was also a member of Team North America at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. A team made up of players aged 23-and-under from Canada and the United States.
