Marek Langhamer was born on July 22, 1994, in Moravská Třebová, Czech Republic. A standout goaltender in his homeland, he joined the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League in 2012 and was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes.

Langhamer began his professional career in 2015-16, splitting time between the ECHL and AHL. In eight games at the ECHL level he recorded an solid 2.23 goals-against-average a impressive .935 save percentage.

On February 20, 2017, Langhamer got his first taste of NHL action. He made seven saves coming on in relief in a 3-2 Coyotes win over the Anaheim Ducks.
