Ryan Pulock was born October 6, 1994, in Dauphin, Manitoba. He played junior hockey for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and was selected in the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders.

Pulock made his professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the late stages of the 2013-14 season. the defenceman would spend the entire season in Bridgeport the following year, appearing in 54 games, recording 17 goals and 12 assists.

During the 2015-16 season, Pulock got his first taste of life in the NHL. He suited up in 15 games for the Islanders, notching a pair of goals and adding two assists.

On the international stage, Pulock helped Canada to the bronze medal at the 2012 World Junior Championship.
