Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Brad Hunt
Brad Hunt was born on August 24, 1988 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The 5’9 undrafted defenseman played four years for the Bemidji State Beavers in the NCAA forbore making the jump to play professionally.

In his time with Bemidji State, he helped his team become the first 16 seed to make the Frozen Four and the first team to make the Frozen Four from outside the top four hockey conferences (Hockey East, WCHA, CCHA, ECAC) in 2009. Hunt was named to the ALL-CHA Rookie Team, All-CHA First Team, and the CHA Rookie of the year.

After his college career, Hunt signed an amateur tryout with the Chicago Wolves, who were then the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. After playing 12 games during the 2011-12 season, he impressed the Wolves enough to sign him to a standard player’s contract for the 2012-13 season. In his second season with the Wolves he played 65 games where he scored four goals and 33 points. This production led him to be named to the 2013 AHL All-Star Game.

In the off-season of 2013, the Edmonton Oilers signed Hunt to a two-year deal with the organization. The Oilers would assign him to the Oklahoma Barons where he would continue with his strong production, which included him being named a Second Team All-Star. This led the Oilers to call Hunt up to the NHL where he would make his NHL debut on January 3, 2014 in a 5-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

In the summer of 2016, Hunt signed as an unrestricted free agent with the St. Louis Blues. He would begin the 2016-17 season with the club's AHL affiliate in Chicago where the defenceman recorded 29 points in 23 games. He was then recalled to St. Louis where he would suit up in nine games and notch five points. Hunt was placed on waivers by the Blue and subsequently claimed by the Nashville Predators on January 17, 2017. He would finish the season with Nashville and sign with the Vegas Golden Knights on July 1, 2017.
