Pheonix Copley was born on January 18, 1992, in North Pole, Alaska. A product of the USHL where he tended goal for the Tri-City Storm and Des Moines Buccaneers, Copley then attended Michigan Tech where he was a member of the Huskies.
Undrafted by an NHL club, Copley spent time in the ECHL and AHL before making his NHL debut. On February 27, 2016, Copley made his first appearance as a member of the St. Louis Blues, coming on in relief against the Nashville Predators. On January 20, 2017, Copley made his first NHL start, making 29 saves in a losing cause against the Winnipeg Jets.
