Michael Liambas was born on February 16, 1989 in Woodbridge, Ontario. A product of the Erie Otters of the OHL, he was undrafted by an NHL club and began his professional career with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

After spending close to seven full seasons in the minors, which included stops in Cincinnati, Orlando, Milwaukee (twice) and Rockford, Liambas made his NHL debut during the 2016-17 season. He suited up for the Nashville Predators on December 3, 2017, in a 3-2 loss at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers.

On July 1, 2017, Liambas' time in the Predators organization would come to an end. He signed as a free agent with the Anaheim Ducks.
