The only news ADAM GRAVES seemed to receive during the 2000-2001 season was bad news. ADAM lost his father, with whom he was very close, to cancer. But to make matters more dismal, GRAVES and his wife also endured the death of their infant son. Yet, ADAM GRAVES persevered, still managing to play 82 games for the New York Rangers. And besides his on-ice commitment, GRAVES continued to be an active participant in the community and with the charities with whom he had long been affiliated. For persevering through his challenges, and exhibiting intense commitment to his hockey career, ADAM GRAVES was selected the MASTERTON TROPHY winner for 2000-2001.
