SuperIce presents the Hockey Hall of Fame's Online Exhibits Tour

TSN/RDS Broadcast Zone

Broadcast Zone

TSN's refurbished Broadcast Zone provides an entertaining and educational first-hand look at television sports broadcasting. Using state-of-the-art IBM digital technology, you can explore the TV broadcast world from a variety of angles, both on and off the camera.

In the main Broadcast Zone foyer, new touchscreen stations give you a number of different looks at the TSN world. Visitors can take a Virtual Reality behind-the-scenes tour of a live network hockey broadcast, or learn the history of sports broadcasting in Canada — including a tribute to some of the great voices of the game.Old Broadcast Photo

There are also newly-upgraded TSN Broadcast Pods, which let you feel what it's like to be on the air, whether it's on the road calling the play-by-play of a hockey broadcast, or back in the studio anchoring TSN's SportsCentre.

In the Tour the Production Mobile module, Paul Romanuk guides you through a 3D simulation of the arsenal of technical hardware used to give TV viewers the best seat in the house for hockey games. You'll meet the members of the production team that work just as hard off-camera as the players do on the ice to capture the action and drama of the game.

In the Broadcast Pods, guides Gord Miller and Yvon Pedneault will help you choose from a menu of classic hockey games, and then put you behind the microphone to try your hand at calling the action. Then he'll take you to a virtual studio where you'll feel the excitement of being on camera for a TSN SportsCentre broadcast. You'll introduce the show, and see yourself in the playback transported to the actual SportsCentre set.
