The Household Family Zone contains tributes and true-to-life scenes that
go back to the roots of hockey. At the centre of the zone is a family sitting
around the television set on a Saturday night during the 1950s tuning in to watch Hockey Night In Canada. This exhibit contains subtle details in the replication as well as the footage of actual NHL games and advertisements on the television set.
The Attic Scene will relate to people in one way or another.
Whether it is hockey cards or lunch buckets with players' faces on the
outside, the attic will echo each fan's collection in one way or another.
The Six AM Scene brings back memories of early morning practices for many families.
A significant portion of this zone pays homage to hockey’s famous families, including the six Sutter brothers who played in the NHL
simultaneously for a period in the 1980’s, as well as the Espositos, Howes, Hulls, Mahovlichs and Patricks.
The RCMP Drug Awareness Campaign is a popular and effective way of communicating the dangers of drug use to young people. Several NHL stars such as Wayne Gretzky have participated in this interactive program which has kids dial a player's number in the designated phone booth to hear a pre-recorded message.
