2001 Inductee Anounced
Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee announces that former NHL greats, Viacheslav Fetisov, Mike Gartner, Dale Hawerchuk and Jari Kurri have been elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Player Category, and Craig Patrick in the Builder Category.
The 2001 Induction Celebration will be held on Monday, November 12th at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.

HHOF Archives Scheduled To Go Online
As part of its ten-year agreement with the Hockey Hall of Fame, WorldCom Canada will contribute to an Internet pilot project that will digitize, catalogue and bring to life the Hockey Hall of Fame's vast archival collections. The project, called "Legends of Hockey Net -- A Web Channel of the Hockey Hall of Fame," will be launched during the 2001 Induction Weekend in November.

New Film Celebrates NHL Training Camps
Join the Hockey Hall of Fame as it pays tribute to the impact NHL training camps have on players' lives and careers. The tribute begins with the debut of a new feature film called "Making The Team - NHL Training Camp" in the HHOF Hartland Molson Theatre on June 18, 2001.
The film follows the 2000 Ottawa Senators training camp held across Canada. Complete with rare behind-the-scenes footage and player interviews, it is a feature that should not be missed.
The film runs through to June 30, 2002.

HHOF Photographer Honoured
Dave Sandford, the Hockey Hall of Fame's primary photographer, has been honoured in Sports Illustrated's Images of 2000 edition. This is Dave's second major SI achievement in the past year. His photograph of Jason Arnott leading the New Jersey Devils to Stanley Cup victory earned the cover of the magazine's June 19th, 2000 edition.

The Return of Le Magnifique - Mario Lemieux
Hockey Hall of Fame Honoured Member Mario Lemieux announced his plan to return to the NHL by late December. Although he is not the first member to attempt a comeback, (Guy Lafleur and Gordie Howe were the others) he will be the first player/owner to participate in any professional sport. His return is anxiously awaited by players, fans, the NHL and the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Full Weekend of HHOF Games
The ACC played host to both the HHOF Game between the Leafs and Blackhawks, and the 2000 HHOF Legends Game between the Leafs Alumni and Legends of Hockey.The 2nd Annual Hockey Hall of Fame Game saw the Leafs and Blackhawks play to a 3-3 tie, while in the legends of Hockey game, the Leafs Alumni get past the NHL Legends 7-4.

HHOF Honours Team Canada '72
Bill Hay, Chairman of the Hockey Hall of Fame, announced on October 10, 2000 that a permanent monument in honour of Team Canada '72 will be commissioned and unveiled as part of the 2000 Induction Weekend/Celebration.
"We are pround to take this opportunity to memorialize one of the greatest achievements in the history of Canadian sport and culture," said Hay.
Hockey fans are invited to view the official unveiling ceremony at 12:00 noon outside the WorldCom Great Hall on Front Street and to interact with team members throughout the afternoon at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
