Public Access
The London Life Hockey Resource Centre is a public library and archives, and anyone with an interest
in Canada's sporting heritage is welcome to use our services.
Thousands of visitors, correspondents, and dedicated fans are
served annually by the Resource Centre.
We also serve administrators of hockey leagues at every level, teams,
players and their families, media (print and electronic), hockey
manufacturers, students, teachers, museums, and other related libraries
and resource centres.
The London Life Hockey Resource Centre is open for research from 10 am to 4 pm Monday
through Friday throughout the year, except for holidays.
Appointments are necessary!
Editorial and Research Services
The Resource Centre staff includes researchers with a wealth of hockey
experience, a photographer, a full-service photographic lab,
and a solid nucleus of volunteers who all bring their knowledge to the library
to assist the public with questions or research projects related
to hockey.
Reference Services
If you can't travel to Toronto to visit us in person, perhaps we can
serve you over the telephone, fax, or through mail correspondence.
Research assistance for hourly fees will be performed by the Resource Centre
staff on request. Fees depend on the type and extent of research
required.
Bibliographies: We maintain a file of bibliographies
covering many hockey topics and individuals, including Honoured Members. Special
bibliographies can be prepared upon request. Research and
photocopying fees may apply.
Photocopy Services: We will provide photocopies
of library material to researchers, etc. for 25 cents per copy
(all paper sizes). Minimum charge is $2 per order. Postage and
Handling charges are separate. Sales tax may apply.
Fax Service: We will fax documents, photos and other
urgently required material to researchers at a minimum charge of $2
(up to 4 pages) plus 50ó each for additional pages.
Courier Mailing: The Resource Centre will gladly
mail and, if necessary, courier information to interested parties.
Shipping and handling charges apply, depending on weight, size, etc.
Price will be determined before mailing.
Appraisals
The Hockey Hall of Fame has a knowledgeable staff with regards to the fair
market value of collectibles. We also have an excellent core of contract and
volunteer staff that appraise donated items.
Identification
We maintain a complete collection of publications, photos, guides and player files which will assist in the identification of players, teams, and artifacts. Research fees may apply.
Conservation
We are consistently upgrading our knowledge and techniques in conservation, preservation, and restoration. The Hockey Hall of Fame is also an active member of the Ontario Museum Association, which provides access to all types of conservation tools. Pricing will vary depending on condition of the artifact and the amount of time required.
