The Hockey Hall of Fame has launched a major program to classify, record and database its
vast collection of artifacts, documents, and photos. Known as the Collections Management
System (CMS), this state-of-the-art computerized system uses IBM client/server technology.
A centralized database on the Hall’s AS/400 Advanced Series server will eventually hold
information about the Hall’s entire collection, with hundreds of keys for classifying objects
and accessing cataloged information. The future goal is to be able to access the entire Hockey Hall of Fame catalog via the Internet.
