Hockey Hall of Fame Education Program

The Education Program was developed to allow young people to learn about Canada's great game, and has been a great hit for teachers and students alike. The programs are available at three levels: The Junior Program (designed for grades 4 through 6); the Intermediate Program (designed for grades 7 through 8) and the Senior Program (designed for grades 9 through 12).

All programs include a series of activities created by teachers based on the Ontario curriculum and ministry guidelines in a fun and readable format. Each program features Pre-visit, Hall-visit, and Post-visit activities that cover a variety of subject areas including Language, Math, History, Geography, Business and Physical Education for various grade levels. The programs in their entirety can be downloaded for classroom use, in PDF format, by simply clicking the links on the left. The materials can be photocopied for classroom use.

To enjoy the full benefits of the Education Program, we encourage you to visit the Hockey Hall of Fame for a full day of interactive fun and educational activities.

Ron Ellis, a former Toronto Maple Leaf and a member of Team Canada in 1972, has given a great deal of his time and talent to the program. "I've always looked at the game as a life teacher," says Ron. "Playing for Team Canada and the NHL gave me a unique perspective." Working with educators and many enthusiastic program supporters at the Hockey Hall of Fame, Ron Ellis has brought his unique perspective to this very successful program.

The Education Program will allow students not only to come to know the history of Canada's game, but also to lead them, through the symbols and traditions of hockey, to a livelier interest in education and the joy of learning.
