A BIG SAVE AT THE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME
The Hockey Hall of Fame and the Vivid Group are pleased to announce the
Shut Out Interactive System — a portable version of the
popular virtual reality goalie game presently found at the Hockey
Hall of Fame.
Shut Out allows a single user the opportunity to test his
or her goaltending skills through the manipulation of a video image in a
computer graphic and video virtual reality environment, thereby permitting
the video image of the user to control elements in the virtual environment,
in real time, by collision detection techniques.

Shut Out consists of a solid blue chromakey back wall and
flooring, one 33" audio-visual monitor, video camera and IBM computer system
with custom graphic boards. The module structure itself is flanked by imitation
rink boards for effect and sponsorship signage opportunities.
Shut Out provides potential sponsors with an excellent
promotional vehicle and is a suitable attraction at special events, trade
shows, banquets, carnivals, fundraisers, etc. Customers can potentially offset
their costs of renting Shut Out through local sponsorship and/or skills
competition user fees.

While the licensed version of Shut Out features computer
graphic images of generic players, the software can be customized for
permanent installations utilizing NHL personalities as the interactive
offensive players. A permanent installation of Shut Out
has been in use in the Hockey Hall of Fame’s Rink Zone since June1993
and continues to be one of its most popular exhibits.
