Jean Pronovost scored at least 20 goals in each season during the 1970s. He appeared in four all-star games and scored a career-high 52 goals in the 1975-76 campaign. Pronovost was Pittsburgh's all-time leader in goals and points when he was shipped to Atlanta in 1978. Jean ended his career with 391 goals and 774 points.

Jean Ratelle tidbit - was on the verge of winning the 1971-72 scoring crown when he broke his ankle late in the season. Phil Esposito ultimately won the Art Ross Trophy.

Mickey Redmond was an exceptional skater with a wicked shot. The 1972-73 season saw Redmond become the first Detroit player in NHL history to score 50 goals, netting 52. His promising career was cut short due to a back injury which forced him into retirement in 1976.

Rene Robert was the right winger of the famed French Connection line that stared for the Buffalo Sabres during the 1970s. During that period, Robert played in two all-star games, earned a berth on the NHL second all-star team in 1975, topped the 30-goal mark four times, and set a career-high of 100 points in the 1974-75 campaign. Robert's jersey number 14 was later retired by the Sabres.

Larry Robinson rep - was considered the unofficial heavyweight champion of the league during the 1970s despite his preference for hard checks over fighting.
