Winner is selected in a poll by the Professional Hockey Writers' Association at the conclusion of the final game in the Stanley Cup Finals. The winner receives $10,000.

  Dave Keon won the Conn Smythe with the Leafs in 1967 Toronto's Dave Keon following the organization's last championship(1966-67 season)

History
Presented by Maple Leaf Gardens Limited in 1964 to honor Conn Smythe, the former coach, manager, president and owner-governor of Toronto Maple Leafs.

Patrick Roy

Goaltender Patrick Roy of the Colorado Avalanche became the first player in the 37-year history of the Conn Smythe Trophy to win the award three times, after leading the Colorado Avalanche to the club's second Stanley Cup championship. Roy tied a NHL playoff record with four shutouts, led the postseason in goals against average with a career best of 1.58 and posted a remarkable .938 save percentage, while becoming the first goaltender since 1965 to post two shutouts in a Stanley Cup Final series.
