Grand Prize Winner at School

On Friday April 24, 2009 a dream came true for a grade five student from Richmond Hill Montessori School, Dasha Gamaley.

Dasha's submission entitled "Stop Bullying, Start Helping!" was named as the Grand Prize winner of the Hockey Hall of Fame Writing Challenge.

As the Grand Prize winner of the Hockey Hall of Fame's Writing Challenge, the Stanley Cup visited Dasha Gamaley and hundreds of her fellow students. The once-in-a-life-time visit also included a special "Tales of the Cup" presentation by Keeper of the Cup, Phil Pritchard and an opportunity for students to get up-close and personal with hockey's ultimate prize.

The Hockey Hall of Fame Writing Challenge was developed in conjunction with the Canadian Safe Schools Network to help eliminate bullying in elementary schools and encourage creative writing for grade 5 and 6 students across Ontario.
