The NHL Greets The Great One

October 10, 1979
The long-awaited NHL debut of teenager Wayne Gretzky takes place in Chicago. Wayne assists on the Oilers first goal in franchise history at 9:49 of the first period, but all this is proceeded by a penalty he's drawn into by Blackhawk bad-guy Keith Magnuson within the first six minutes of play.
