13a. Global Game Encounter

At the heart of the Tissot World of Hockey Zone is the Global Game Encounter, an innovative, interactive, high-tech exhibit providing in-depth information about international hockey. The exhibit combines individual user kiosks accessing detailed international hockey data and photographic images, with an impressive large-format multimedia display that caters its audio/visual presentations to those areas in which users are collectively interested.


The star of the Global Game Encounter is Cosmo, an animated computer-generated character who serves as host and guide to the multimedia presentations. Interacting with the users, Cosmo acts as master of ceremonies serving up presentations about a wide variety of topics:

The International Ice Hockey Federation:
Including history, executives, rules, and more. It includes the IIHF Honour Roll, a tribute to the greatest names in international hockey, providing information and visuals pertaining to each honouree.

Member countries of the IIHF:
Information about the more than 50 countries belonging to the IIHF, their National Federations, and their Men's, Women's, and Junior National Teams.

League Play:
In-depth information about the major and elite leagues outside North America.

Results and stats from international hockey's tournaments, including details of the renowned Izvestia and Spengler Cup competitions.

World Championships:
Details about the tournaments, team rosters, and players of the World Championship, going back to the competition's inception.

Hockey at the Olympic Winter Games:
A tribute to the tradition of hockey at the Olympic Winter Games, covering men's and women's competitions. In-depth stats on Olympic teams and players since the 1920 competition in Antwerp.

Pro Classics:
Multimedia and stats from World Cup action and the preceding Canada Cup competitions, plus coverage of the Pro Classics of yesteryear, including the '72 Summit Series.
