Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Keith Osborne
Right-winger Keith Osborne played 16 NHL games in the early 90s. Although his big league career was short-lived, his numbers in junior, the minors and Europe were impressive.

The Toronto native played midget with the local Red Wings before starring with the OHL's North Bay Centennials. After scoring 89 points as a major junior rookie in 1986-87, Osborne was chosen in the first round, 12th overall, by the St. Louis Blues at the Entry Draft. During his last year of junior he was traded to the powerful Niagara Falls Thunder in 1988-89 and help the team reach the OHL final.

Osborne recorded two assists in five games with the Blues in 1989-90 but bas chiefly a playmaker on the IHL's Peoria Rivermen for two years. A trade to the weak Toronto Maple Leafs in 1991 was not a ticket back to the NHL but he was claimed by the Tampa Bay Lightning at the 1992 Expansion Draft. Osborne played 11 games in 1992-93 and scored his only NHL goal and also tallied 40 times for the IHL's Atlanta Knights. He retired in 1994 after scoring 26 goals for the Zurich Grasshoppers club of the Swiss Elite League.
