Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Gord Kuhn
Right-winger Gord Kuhn played 12 contests with the New York Americans in 1932-33. Although he was only 5'7" 145 lbs., the man known as "Doggie" proved to be a relentless worker in the minors and with various senior teams.

Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Kuhn played senior hockey with the local Bearcats as well as the Windsor Maple Leafs and Halifax Wolverines. In 1929-30 he led the provincial senior league in goals and points while a member of the Truro squad. He played his first two pro seasons with the Can-Am League's New Haven Eagles before being recalled to the NHL by New York.

Kuhn was a steady scorer with the Buffalo Bisons of the IAHL before he joined the Providence Reds of the Can-Am League the next year. He stayed with the Reds when they joined the new American Hockey League in 1936-37 and was one of the team's top players. Kuhn retired in 1940 after playing one last season with the AHL's Syracuse Stars.
