Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Paul O'Neil
Centre/right winger Paul O'Neil played six NHL games in the early 70s. A fine offensive talent, most of his production came in the minors and Europe.

The native of Charlestown, Massachusetts played two years at Boston University. After scoring 54 points in 28 games during the 1972-73 season, he was chosen 67th overall by the Vancouver Canucks at the NHL Amateur Draft. He played five games for the Canucks in 1973-74 but spent most of his time as a 29-goal scorer with the WHL's Seattle Totems.

Apart from a one game appearance for the Boston Bruins in 1975-76, O'Neil was a consistent scorer in the minors through the 1978-79 season. In 1979-80 he joined the HC Salzburg club of Austria and played there three out of the next four seasons. O'Neil also spent some time in the Eastern League with the Hampton Aces. He retired in 1986 after four successful years in the Atlantic Coast league which were topped by a 51-goal performance in 1983-84.
