Morgan Klimchuk was born on March 2, 1995 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He played his major junior hockey primarily with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League, where he established himself as one of the league’s top two-way forwards. He finished his junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings where he recorded 50 points in 30 games following a mid-season trade.

Klimchuk was selected in the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames and would begin his professional career with the club’s AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat, in 2015. Klimchuk would spend the better part of two and half seasons in Stockton, including a pair of 19-goal campaigns, before he received his first NHL recall. He made his NHL debut on February 19, 2018 in a 2-1 loss to the Boston Bruins.
