Nicolas Roy was born on February 5, 1997 in Amos, Quebec. After being drafted first overall by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft, he refused to join the club and was subsequently traded to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. On April 7, 2018, Roy would get his first glimpse of NHL action, suiting up with the Hurricanes in the club’s final game of the season.
