Giovanni Fiore was born on August 13, 1996 in Laval, Quebec. He had a nomadic junior career, spending time in Acadie-Bathurst, Drummondville, Shawinigan and Cape Breton. In his final junior season, Fiore recorded 52 goals in 61 games and added 38 assists for 90 points.

Undrafted by an NHL club, Fiore signed as a free agent with the Anaheim Ducks and began the 2017-18 season with the club’s AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls. In 65 games for the Gulls, Fiore scored 18 times to go along with 12 assists. He also got his first taste of NHL action during his first professional season, suiting up with the Ducks on October 8, 2017 in a 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins.
