Philip Holm was born on December 8, 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. A product Djurgarden in his homeland, he spent six seasons in the organization before signing as a free agent with the Vaxjo Lakers. After just one year with Vaxjo, Holm signed a deal with the Vancouver Canucks on May 26, 2017.

Holm made his North American debut at the AHL level with the Utica Comets during the 2017-18 season. He would suit up in in 42 games for the club, scoring 11 times and adding 18 assists. On February 23, 2018 Holm got his first taste of NHL action, suiting up his lone game as a member of the Canucks. Days later he was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights and finished the season with their affiliate in Chicago. In the summer of 2017, Holm inked a deal with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL.
