Vincent Lecavalier set a Tampa Bay Lightning record 52 goals en route toward capturing his first career Maurice Richard Trophy. Lacavalier edged out Ottawa's Danny Heatley by two goals to earn the top spot as as the NHL's top goal scorer. His 52 goal output, along with 56 assists and 108 points, were all career-highs for the Ille-Bizard, Quebec native. Lecavalier was one of only seven players to reach the 100-point plateau this past season and finished just 12 points shy of the League's leading scorer Sidney Crosby. During the 2006-07 season, Lecavalier also recorded his 500th career point. For the third consecutive year the "Rocket" Richard Trophy has now been won by a North American-born player.
