NHL rookie EDDIE BELFOUR became the first goaltender since Tom Barrasso in 1984 to capture both the Calder and Vezina Trophies in the same NHL season. BELFOUR led the league in all major statistical goaltender categories, including wins (43), goals-against average (2.47) and save percentage (.910), as well as falling one game short from the NHL games played record of 75. In the process, EDDIE led Chicago to the Presidents' Trophy with the NHL's best overall record. Other honours he received following the 1990-91 season included, All-Rookie Netminder and First Team All-Star, the William M. Jennings Trophy, and the Trico Goaltender Award for posting the top save percentage. Patrick Roy, the past two year's VEZINA winner, placed second in the trophy's voting.
