After being named a Vezina Trophy finalist in four of the past seven seasons, Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils finally captured the top goaltender award following his outstanding 2002-03 regular season. Brodeur led the NHL in victories with 41 and shutouts with nine, while leading the Devils to the Atlantic Division title. Finishing with an overall record of 41-24-9 during 73 games played, his 2.02 goals against-average and .914 save percentage, combined with the club's overall average of 1.66, earned Brodeur his third Jennings Trophy. Also earning his first berth on the 1st All-Star Team, Brodeur was a finalist for the Hart Trophy and would capture his third Stanley Cup championship. Dallas Stars netminder Marty Turco was the Vezina runner-up.
