Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings was runner up for the Norris Trophy in 2015. One year later he took home the award as the NHL's top defender.

Averaging 28:01 minutes per game, Doughty was the cornerstone of a Kings defence that finished in the top five in goals-against-average. He also posted 14 goals and 37 assists for 51 points to go along with a career-best +24 rating.

Doughty beat out Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators and Brent Burns of the San Jose Sharks to capture the first Norris Trophy of his career.
