Despite splitting the season with teammate “Turk” Broda, AL ROLLINS was named the winner of the 1950-51 VEZINA TROPHY during his first full season in the NHL. ROLLINS became only the second Leafs netminder to capture the award, leading the Leafs to a club-record 95 points and a second place finish. During his 40 games played, AL finished with an extraordinary record of 27-5-8 with five shutouts and a league-leading 1.77 goals-against average. Terry Sawchuk of Detroit was the VEZINA runner-up.
