After 10 National Hockey League seasons among the elite, HARRY “APPLE CHEEKS” LUMLEY finally captured the VEZINA TROPHY. Also named to the First All-Star Team, LUMLEY set a new Maple Leafs record with 13 shutouts to lead the league. His sparkling 1.86 goals-against average also topped the NHL as he finished with a record of 32-24-13, playing in all but one of the Leafs regular season matches. Terry Sawchuk of Detroit was the VEZINA runner-up.
